Andrea Mandorlini: “I’ve Always wanted to coach Inter.”

“I would’ve absolutely loved to coach Inter,” said ex-Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini, while speaking to TMW Radio. “I played many years for Inter, I always have contact with them but it’s never formal. I don’t seem to fit the mold of a coach for their club.”

The talk then turned to the current situation of i nerazzurri, “Their potential is high. They’re 8 points away from third place; their ultimate goal. The thing is, there have been so many changes which will naturally cause a bit of destabilization. Pioli is a great coach. I hope he can revitalize Inter to a Champions League spot.”

The talk then moved to Gabriel Barbosa’s situation. “Nobody’s seen him play and if he continues not to play, Inter will have problems with the fans. But the fans need to understand that it takes time. Gabriel is a young boy. He reminds me of Iturbe, who, at Verona with me, played wonderfully. Then, once Iturbe went to Roma, he found difficulty. You have to have time, patience and balance,” concluded the Italian coach.
