Sean Dyche, the manager of Burnley – who’ve been linked with Yuto Nagatomo – spoke about his ambitions for the transfer window ahead of today’s draw with Sunderland in the FA Cup: “We are working on a lot of things. But it’s tough to do business in January. Almost the day after we were promoted we were working on things but it became very difficult to get things to happen. Historically January is even harder. Money in Burnley’s world, we’ve got a lot of money, but in the Premier League world, with some of the teams who are not even recognised superpowers spending a lot of money, it’s a different gauge. I’m not attempting to cry it in, we’re trying to spend what is quite big money for a club like Burnley. In the bigger picture of the Premier League it’s not that much. It’s quite simple, we’re in a very healthy shape as a football club, While we’re not always in a position to spend vast amounts of money, we are in a position to be very strong as a club with any predators who come in for our players. Nothing’s changed on that script.”
