After the derby draw yesterday afternoon, Yuto Nagatomo spoke to Japanese reporters regarding the match but also about what the future has in store for him.
“I’ve always trained well and did what I had to do even in my private life. I think when I’ve trained I’ve been in good condition and I have always done my duty without betraying,” he said.
“I saw what condition I was in and I felt good, it’s been a long while since I played but I played in the derby, I’m happy.
“Although Medel and I protested [about the late equaliser] we could not help it, that’s football.”
The Japanese full-back then discussed his future at the club.
“Pioli told me that even if he could not use me in matches, I’d have to give 100% in training, at any time. I’ve always been very professional, I believe, and eventually I played in the derby.
“You never know, I could stay at Inter but I could also leave, but whatever happens I have to do what I am doing now. I think I have shown the coach that I’m in good condition.”
Finally Nagatomo spoke about the new Chinese ownership of both Milan clubs saying: “I think that thanks to them both brands will become much stronger in Asia.”
