According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Khouma Babacar was offside for Fiorentina’s fifth goal and Paolo valeri struggled to whistle in favour of Inter for the majority of the game.
The paper reports: “The controversial situation on the 4-2 goal, where the ball hits Carlos Sanchez’s arm – he does not see the ball and therefore it is involuntary.
“In regards to the penalty, it was naive from D’Ambrosio even though not every action like that is given.
“And then we come to the final protests. Where Cristoforo was booked which prolonged the game by 30 seconds and Inter win a corner 25 seconds after the alloted time and Valeri blows the whistle. The only chronometer that counts is the referee.”
