Inter’s poor form continued after a 30 minute collapse in the 2nd half away against Fiorentina when the Nerazzurri conceded 4 goals in 30 minutes as well as conceding a penalty. Did any players particularly impress? Who was more to blame for the collective collapse?
Samir Handanovic – 5: Why such a low grade despite saving a penalty etc.? Because his inconsistency as in Vecino’s 2nd goal sends shock-waves through team.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 4: Clumsy, awful positioning, abysmal crossing…Put up a classic #NotMaicon performance tonight to thank Inter for extending his contract.
Gary Medel – 4: The worst performance he’s given in an Inter-shirt. Played like a neutered poodle rather than a pitbul. Responsible for at least 2 goals.
Joao Miranda – 4: He’s as unstable as a bag full of plutonium. Almost scored an own-goal but his mistakes were minor in comparison to his team-mates.
Yuto Nagatomo – 4: Can’t cross, doesn’t know what positioning is, heads the ball like a scared child & is a complete liability. Yet he plays year after year.
Roberto Gagliardini – 5: His worst performance since joining Inter. Is looking physically & mentally jaded. Crumbled in 2nd half, needs to be rested.
Geoffrey Kondogbia – 5: Looked good for most of the 1st half but was overrun & overwhelmed in 2nd half like entire team. Brought off in 76th minute..
Antonio Candreva – 6.5: Gets ridiculed for his many crosses but his perseverence pays when he continues crossing until they reach their intended target. Which they did tonight twice leading to 2 goals.
Joao Mario – 6.5: Played a lovely through ball for Icardi’s 1st goal & enjoys the trequartista role. Useful in attack but not defensively. At least not today.
Ivan Perisic – 7: Finally got to score his 10th goal in the Serie A this season & also got 1 assist for Icardi’s 2nd goal. Put in a shift of work tonight.
Mauro Icardi – 7.5: Showed today why he’s such a lethal poacher. Buried every chance he had tonight. All 3 coming in open play. Captain’s performance.
Eder – 5: Came on for Nagatomo in 73rd minute. Blasted a free-kick over which likely caused the Panini vendors outside the stadium problems.
Marcelo Brozovic – 5: Replaced Kondogbia in the 76th minute when the match was practically over. Had no real impact on match.
Stefano Pioli – 4: When a team collapses collectively as Inter did in the 2nd half it is the coaches fault. Seems unable to turn the negative trend around.
Paolo Valeri – 4.5: Gave a penalty to Fiorentina but declined Inter when clearer shouts for penalties occurred. Decided to end match despite time left.
Inter – 4: Shambolic performance in the 2nd half reminiscent of the Novara & Udinese debacles in recent years. Collapsed mentally when able to put match away. Pathetic.
