Inter’s current transition and the uncertain coaching future caused Inter to give up on the Swiss full back. The Wolfsburg defender was very much liked by Stefano Pioli and the Nerazzurri had been negotiating his transfer until mid-February, then things started to turn sour for Inter. Moreover, Inter were unwilling to pay the 22.5 million euros that the German club were demanding. Rodriguez now looks set to join Inter’s city rivals Milan for 15 million euros.
