After the successful conclusion to the season when beating Genoa at home 3-2 which meant direct qualification to next seasons Champions League, Roma’s new captain Daniele De Rossi spoke with Premium Sports and Sky Sport explaining what the team needs to do in order to chase the league title next season:
“We need the team to not be dismantled, that we continue to work with a great coach as we have this year because those ahead of us will remain strong and even those behind us will be strengthened.”
De Rossi was the asked if the win against Genoa was the last game with Luciano Spalletti in charge of the Giallorossi to which he replied: “I expect him to say if he’s leaving or staying, I’ve seen many people who are happy about Spalletti’s departure. I wish that they are happy on the 28th of May next year too. I have my doubts that the next coach will notch up 88 points, today Spalletti was less important because of Francesco Totti’s celebrations.”
