Three praises and a criticism made by Gazzetta dello Sport for the Inter-Lyon friendly match. The newspaper awarded Joao Mario man of the match alongside Jovetic and Kondogbia; however, not so much for Gabigol:
Joao Mario: “Played for almost 80 minutes without losing intensity. A jewel of tenacity and geometry helps Jovetic.”
Jovetic: “Like a year ago, displayed beautiful flashes, he understands football, it is not up for discussion.”
Kondogbia: “The medical team healed his ankle, then he broke into the game and getting clean balls. Linked up nicely with Perisic.”
Gabigol: “The more he tried, the more he got soaked up, the usual cheers from the fans but also the usual mistakes. Useless.”
