Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj spoke on Sunday’s clash with Inter to Gazzetta dello Sport. Firstly, the Croatian spoke on his two former teammates Borja Valero and Matias Vecino, both of whom swapped the Viola for the Nerazzurri in the mercato: “Borja has class and calmness, on the pitch he’s always in the right place, he feels the game. We’ll mark him with the attention afforded to great players. We’ll avoid giving him space between the lines, and watch out for his long balls forward. Vecino? He has a devastating work ethic from the first minute to the last.”
Badelj then moved on to speak about his two Inter playing compatriots, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic: “Ivan Perisic? Against him you just have to hope you don’t meet him when he’s on form, otherwise he’ll kill you. Perisic has two magical feet, he can dribble and he’s deadly in one-on-ones. You always have to double up on him. Marcelo Brozovic? He’s a good midfielder, when he runs it seems like he’s resting. He doesn’t feel fatigue, it’s a gift few have.”
The midfielder concluded saying: “It’s better to meet Inter now though, we’re a team under construction, so we can play without pressure.”
