Tuttosport are of the opinion that Inter have a new Esteban Cambiasso in Borja Valero. The Spaniard arrived in the summer from Fiorentina and has immediately taken control of Inter’s play. The 32-year-old is dictating the tempo Inter play at and has even dropped further back in the pitch, two assist the central defenders.

Borja Valero has appeared in all three of Inter’s league games thus far and while he is yet to assist or score, it can only be a matter of time until he does one or the other.

During periods of success, Inter have always had a regista in the middle. From Luis Suarez of Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter of the 1960’s to the likes of Gianfrance Matteoli, Lothar Mattheus, Andreas Brehme, Aldo Serena, Nicola Berti, Antonio Manicone, Ze Elias and Esteban Cambiasso in the successful periods that have followed.
