Crotone plays a traditional 4-4-2 nothing strange here. But there’s no movement at all on the pitch and the players plays too slow!
Our 3 forwards are marked and j.mario is not going to spaces behind the midfield line as you can expect from traditional trequartista for receiving passes.

Crotone can’t press 90 mins like this. Once they sit back and we break the deadlock it’s over for them.
Crotone is stuffing the middle and challenging us to attack from the sides. Knowing Inter’s quality at fullback it’s a smart tactic. Also the crap quality of their pitch doesn’t help our build up play. It’s kind of the field that players like Mario and Valero hate. This is the kind of game that Cancelo could have been so helpful.
Vecino alongside Valero needs to be starters especially in important matches this just solidifies it. If Gagliardini can’t even show up for Crotone he should not be trusted against a better side.

I was at the Meazza watching the game live mr.Meazza pri#c. Gagliardini’s positioning was off too many times in my book in that game. For midfielders I value positioning even over interceptions and Valero had much better positioning defensively in that game than Gaglia. I watched again his plays on youtube and there was some sweet interpretations I didn’t give him credit for. But overall all my friends who were with me and have been following sports for 30 years where surprised when GdS rated him as the man of the match. He might have been good, but for me because of his positioning he was just average and not among the best players at the pitch. Watch more football and less stats.

Lol Gaglia played better than Borja for sure in this game. Borja hasn’t been successful in distributing the ball.
Valero def not having a good game either, but he is better than Gagliardini and I trust him to be better over the length of entire the season.
Gaglia is taking a burden of defending not Borja much. Also he started passing risky and that’s why he lost the ball so much. I’m not saying he had a good game but nor Borja Valero

This has been a 1th half to forget – damn we have been bad. And too many players playing too slow and below what they´re cap of. Gaglairdini has been sluggish and bad, Dalbert had lost pos. many times and doesn’t seem to be mentaly ready to player for us – I know; very young and needs time, Valero had been under standard and Mario .. simply not an attacking midfielder! Yes, and Candreva has been bad too!

The way we are struggling to create any meaningful build up play shows that we are going to struggle against teams who will set up in this way (most bottom half teams)

Gaglia was a beast against Spal. He deserves the starting position.
