Inter, all ok with UEFA: in January they can spend. As for Thohir and UCL…

Yesterday it was revealed that Inter’s revenues increased by 33%, budget losses were limited to about 24 million euros and so FFP was met: Inter came out stronger and have now embarked on the correct path after the board meeting.

This is also confirmed by Corriere della Sera, who emphasise the increase in profits compared to 2016: from 241.4 million to about 321. “It is not impossible to comply with UEFA’s parameters and so we will remain passive” they say. Furthermore “some expenses (youth sector and infrastructure) are deductible from our FFP agreement, but still impact on the budget.  The arrangements remains in effect for another season and Inter’s leadership will continue to respect it. It will not be easy, the transfer market hurt the accounts by close to 80 million, but the eventual entry into the Champions League grants an additional 50 million, but it is still to be determined if it will apply to the next budget (since the championship is far from over).

At the end of October there will be an assembly of members from the Chinese Communist Party Congress, specifically planned for the 18th of October. They will discuss investment strategies for large companies, so also Suning, at Bejing’s summer retreat. However Inter could look to spend again in January (for a midfielder), but with a little more freedom, after hopefully being released from last markets restrictions on investment into foreign Football clubs put in place by the Chinese government.

It will also become necessary to evaluate Thohir’s output as it still may be a while until he sells his remaining 30% shares.”
