Gabriel Barbosa’s entourage have moved to dispel rumours that he is currently unhappy at Benfica, where he finds himself on loan. Speaking to Esporte Interativo, one of his representatives slammed the rumours by saying, “There is no evidence of dissatisfaction on his part, there is nothing to say about it.” Adding, “He works hard every day to be able to have his chance in the team, and then he knows that he can gain his space in training.”
Portuguese outlet Record meanwhile report that the 21-year-old may get a chance to start for just the second time in the third round of the Portuguese cup against Olhanense, the first game after the international break for the Eagles.
Gabigol has made just three appearances for a total of 89 minutes in all competitions this term and has been unable to score or assist since arriving from Inter during the mercato.
