An excellent defensive display saw Inter prevent Napoli from taking their 9th consecutive win in the Serie A thanks to a 0-0 draw in a match were every single Inter player fought their socks off for the team in what must have been the best team performance any Inter side has given in the past decade.

Samir Handanovic – 7,5: As brilliant as he must be for Inter to get a result in these matches. The people of Gotham City have Batman, Inter have Batmanovic. Man of the match.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 7: Gave his best performance in an Inter shirt. Barely put a foot wrong all night & won every crucial challenge. Never been better.

Milan Skriniar – 6,5: Continues to produce world class performances week after week. Displays an impressive maturity & intelligence despite his young age.

Joao Miranda – 6,5: Saved a certain goal via a brilliant last minute tackle. Was booked after a rash challenge & is suspended next match against Sampdoria.

Yuto Nagatomo – 7: The player who has grown the most under Spalletti. Man marked Callejon for 90 minutes & barely made a mistake. Never played better.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6.5: A very solid performance by the youngster who made his Serie A season 12 months ago. Gives balance to the team in attack & defence.

Matias Vecino – 6,5: Inter’s own energizer bunny. Never stops chasing the life out of his opponents & seems physically unable to become tired.

Antonio Candreva – 6.5: Another big match another very impressive performance. Closed down Napoli’s left wing completely together with D’Ambrosio.

Borja Valero – 6: Such an intelligent player. His vision, passing & timing is unparalleled affording time to his team mates in attack & defence.

Ivan Perisic – 6: Not the usual marauding runs down the left but instead worked his socks off by defending & closing down Napoli’s entire right flank.

Mauro Icardi – 6: A true captain & leader who put in a shift of work when helping out defensively whilst alone keeping Napoli’s both defenders occupied.

Joao Mario – 6: Came on in the 71st minute for an exhausted Borja Valero & didn’t show any signs of the tonsillitis that kept him from playing vs Milan.

Joao Cancelo – : Was brought on in the 83rd minute to replace Candreva who was so tired he could barely walk. Didn’t play long enough to be marked.

Eder – : Replaced Icardi in the 87 th minute & didn’t play long enough to be able to be marked.

Luciano Spalletti – 7: Got his tactics spot on in the most difficult challenge he has faced as an Inter coach. Has changed Inter’s mentality singlehandedly.

Luca Banti – 6,5: Very solid & consistent performance by the referee & his team. Got every single major decision right & allowed play to flow.

Inter – 7: Best defensive team performance an Inter side has given since the famous Champions League semifinal return leg vs Barcelona in 2010.

Do you agree with D’Ambrosio’s rating? Was Nagatomo’s too high/low? Who do you think was Inter’s Man of The Match?
