Inter’s Portuguese international midfielder Joao Mario spoke with Premium Sport before kick-off in the concluding fixture of day 11 of the 2017/2018 Serie A season when the Nerazzurri take on Hellas away at the Stadio Marc-Antonio Bentegodi in Verona.
“This is a very important match because the other teams have won, we have to win to remain in the top. We are becoming stronger day by day in terms of our mentality and we must look to win to demonstrate that Inter are at the top to stay.”
“We have to respect the coach’s choices and train hard and to capitalize on the chance when it arises” JoaoMario replied to a question regarding the fact that Spalletti has decided to start with the same starting eleven for the fourth match in a row.
A few moments later Joao Mario stopped by InterTV to preview that match: “It is the first time that we are playign after our opponents in the top of the league have played, but it does not change anything. Our objective is always to win to continue to fight at the top. We have a lot to lose today because we want to finish in the top of the league, we hope to be able to give a good performance today.”
In conclusion he was asked about starting on the bench yet again to which he replied: “Every match has a different story to tell, we will have to wait and see what happens today.”
