Inter’s Brazilian striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa who is currently out on loan with Portuguese champions Benfica, has struggled to break in to the first team this season and the team’s manager Rui Vitoria has spoken about the 21-year old’s limited playing time.

“Gabriel has worked as well as his other companions but he is part of a group of about 30 players. It is clear that we have to make choices and sometimes it is a matter of opportunity. However, from a point of behaviour and commitment I have nothing to say,” Rui Vitoria told Portuguese outlet Esporte Interativo.

Vitoria, who has served as Benfica boss since 2015, believes that this could actually benefit the Brazilian’s development concluding that: “sometimes it is not easy for a player to overcome difficult moments but when the player shows the ability to overcome these little moments and these failures, he usually returns to the field ready.”
