Former Inter captain and current Sky Sport commentator and pundit Giuseppe Bergomi, analysed Hellas Verona’s performance in the 2-1 defeat against Inter at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Monday night and believed that the Verona side could avoid the drop this season, if they can play like they did against the Nerazzurri.
Bergomi put forward his case in an exclusive interview with Sky Sport Italia arguing that: “I saw Verona play at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against Roma, where they looked inadequate and frankly at times a little bit embarrassing. A few weeks have passed since that game and having seen their performance against Inter, it is clear that things have changed. Now Hellas Verona are becoming a real team and if the play like this in their upcoming matches they can save themselves and avoid relegation.”
Hellas Verona returned to the Serie A this season after having finished top of last seasons Serie B where former Inter striker Giampaolo Pazzini became the top scorer of Italy’s second tier.
