Former Inter defender Alessandro Pistone was interviewed by Italian media outlet TMW about the great start to the Serie A his former paymasters have enjoyed. Pistone, who only spent one season with the Nerazzurri before moving to Newcastle United in the Premier League, argued that appointing Luciano Spalletti as head coach during the summer was the key behind the record breaking start.
“Inter is having a positive season, because Spalletti is a guarantee for success. There are not many tacticians better than him in Italy.”
Pistone continued by heaping praise on Slovakian central defender Milan Skriniar stating that “I was surprised by the tremendous consistency he has shown, from a mental point of view. From a physical point of view, he is very strong, fast, strong in the air and good on one-on-one situations.”
In conclusion Pistone commented on Italian international striker Eder who recently signed a new contract with the Nerazzurri: “He is a great player that allows you to change system. He is always ready to come on whenever he is called upon.”
