Gabriel Barbosa’s first season on loan at Benfica from Inter is not going very well at all.

The former Santos striker is finding it difficult to break into the starting line-up with the reigning Portuguese champions, and in fact, his loan deal could come to an end this January, according to reports published by  Portuguese media outled Record.

Accordimg to the report Inter’s Sporting Director Pietro Ausilio has already informed Benfica that if the player who won Olympic gold at the 2014 Rio Olympics continues to find little space at the club, the loan deal will be canceled. There is a possibility that the Brazilian youngster will be sent on loan to another club to complete the season after he returns to Inter this January, in order to gain more valuable first team football.

Gabigol signed for Inter during the 2016 summer transfer window for a reported fee of €30 million but has struggled to get any playing time for the Nerazzurri last season.
