Hernanes Proud Of His Time At Inter

In an interview with Lance! former Inter midfielder, Hernanes expressed his desire to once again play for the Barzilian national team. After playing in Italy and China, Hernanes returned to the club that launched his professional career, Sao Paolo.

“I never stopped thinking about the Seleção, it has always been a goal. Everything I’ve done in recent years has been pursuing growth and achieving goals. At Juventus I played a little more than a year in the role as a deeplyign midfielder, a role I do not like, but I evolved, I grew up. On the pitch, despite ten years of football, you learn about football and yourself. In China I have played in a different position than my previous experiences, I have adapted and decided what my position would be to make me useful. Every stage gave me growth and inner knowledge, and I never stopped thinking about the Seleçao. It is a primary goal. Tactically I have experienced various situations and I have come to an awareness that has pushed me to change position. If it had happened before, I would have decided it first.”

In conclusion, Hernanes reflected about his time with the Nerazzurri stating that “at Inter I was a trequartista and I did well enough that Juventus bought me, but I was used in another position for other needs. I regret having agreed to play in that role but it’s all part of the process, of my story. I had to go through all these positions, teams and countries to figure out what’s best for me.”
