Juventus are back in the race to sign Atletico Madrid’s Uruguayan central defender, Jose Gimenez according to Tuttosport. The Bianconer had previously tried to sign Gimenez 12 months ago but were not willing to pay the fee Atletico was asking for.

Tuttosport report further that Gimenez is very close to renewing his contract with Atletico Madrid until the end of June 2021 and that there will be a €65 million minimum release fee clause included in the contract: “the extension until the end of June 2021 has never been announced, but has been ratified, and the €65 million clause has remained in force. The player will be a key factor in lowering the price which Juventus sre willing to invest and which other big clubs are also willing to pay. Gimenez is liked in the Premier League  by Manchester United and Manchester City who are leading the race to sign him as well as in the Serie A by Inter and Roma.”
