Belgian Under 19 national team manager Gert Verheyen spoke on Inter starlet Zinho Vanheusden in an interview with Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad.

Verheyen was full of praise for the Primavera centre back claiming that he is “the best defender I have ever seen in my five years training the youth teams. He has a great mentality.”

Vanheusden is yet to get his break with the Inter first team but is a regular name on the substitutes bench, being named on it no less than six times. Verheyen believes that “in Belgium he would surely be a first team player.”

Vanheusden is currently sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury and is not expected to be back in action for about another five months. The 18-year-old is regarded as one of Inter’s top prospects and is under contract with the San Siro club through to 2019 but recent reports suggest that a new contract is incoming.
