Sky Italia journalist, pundit and commentator, Fabio Caressa, spoke about Inter on Sky Sport Italia today regarding the Nerazzurri’s season so far generally and particularly, the squad as well as the resources available to coach, Luciano Spalletti.

Caressa stated that “Inter need to buy a central defender because with suspensions and injuries they could be left short with just one backup player in that position in Andrea Ranocchia. Personally, I can’t understand why there are some that say that Inter need to strengthen in the full-back positions when they have D’Ambrosio and Nagatomo who have arguably been the most consistent in that position in the league so far, those who have failed to impress are mainly in other areas of the pitch.”

Caressa concluded by naming the names of the players he would sign if he was Inter’s Sporting Director saying that “I would go for Mehdi Benatia from Juventus. I think that now that Höwedes is fit, he won’t play much more for Juventus and I think it is possible a deal could be made. Otherwise I would buy Criscito who can play either in the middle of defence or on the left side.”
