The 2017/201818 Serie A Season is still in its’ infancy and in these early months of the season it is usually said that the time for reflection is not now but more so in January or June. However this is not always true for everyone and this seems to be the case with Gabriel Barbosa Almeida nicknamed Gabigol.

After a season spent on the fringes of the team at Inter last year, it seemed that after lots of rumours and proposed transfers that his eventual loan move to Benfica was the best solution for everyone involved. However after the first few months of the season he has managed just 4 appearances scoring only one goal in all competitions.

With all things considered, it seems that the transfer merry-go-round begins to turn again for the young Brazilian striker. Looking ahead to the January transfer market there are many potential options, one of which being Genoa. The struggling Genovese sides Sporting Director however has been quick to quash these rumours.

Speaking toFCInterNews Giorgio Perinetti moved quickly to throw water on the Gabigol to Genoa fire stating that: “We now have a new manager and we will speak further down the line about possible transfer market dealings. There is nothing to report today regarding Gabigol.”

As things stand everything remains on standby and it seems likely that the nothing will happen until next month.
