Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti spoke to Chinese outlet Sika Sports ahead of Inter Legends game with a Chinese All Stars Team.
Zanetti first spoke on Inter’s season so far.
“Thanks to the great work of Luciano Spalletti and his staff, players are aware of their own strengths. They have had a very positive performance, and we hope that at the end of the season we finish as high as possible, the goal is qualifying for the Champions League, and we hope we can achieve that goal.”
Zanetti then spoke on compatriot and Inter captain Mauro Icardi, who has scored 11 in 12 this season.
“Maurito is an extraordinary striker, he is demonstrating it and important to the team, the fans and the club. I hope he can stay for a long time.”
Zanetti, who spent nearly his entire career in Nerazzurri then spoke on the mercato.
“We must go back to working on the important values of sport: the sense of belonging is fundamental. You have to be very careful to evaluate the types of players you are going to sign.”
