During yesterday’s naming of the gardens by San Siro in honour of Grande Inter manager Helenio Herrera, there were protests from Milan fans, unhappy that one of their own legendary managers Nereo Rocco was not getting recognition as well.
Milan mayor Giusepe Sala spoke on the sidelines of a presentation from the Luiss Hub and admitted his love for Inter alongside a willingness to honour Rocco as well.
“The Milanistsi are right to ask for a dedication for Rocco,” he admitted. “I am an Interista, that is clear, but I want to make a difference for both Milan and Inter. I had a great deal of respect for Nereo Rocco. So if they write to me, we will organise something. It is time to celebrate Il Paron. ”
Rocco had three spells in charge of the Rossoneri, winning two scudetto, three Coppa Italia, two European Cups, two UEFA Cup winners cups and an Intercontinental cup.
