Former Inter forward Roberto Boninsegna spoke ahead of the Nerazzurri’s clash with Cagliari tomorrow night.

“Right now Inter is a team that looks great and Icardi scores goals nearly every time he touches the ball. Now that Inter have found the right position for Borja Valero they are stronger.”

When asked for a prediction for tomorrow’s fixture he added: “In football anything can happen, it would be a great achievement for the Rossoblu to earn a point.”

Boninsegna then was asked how he would stop Inter if he was the Cagliari manager.

“If I were the coach of the Rossoblu, I would tell the team to be aggressive and not allow Inter any space. I read that the Sardegna Arena will be fully sold out which gives them a small advantage which must be exploited.”

The 74-year-old then spoke on Inter’s interest in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

“He’s only 20 years old but I was struck by the intensity which he plays with. He has the potential to make a nice career for himself and is an investment for the future. I think he will leave the club next summer.”
