For the fifth consecutive season Mauro Icardi left his mark against Cagliari in Sardinia making it five goals in total the Inter captain has scored on Cagliari on their home turf Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning.

Including the two goals from yesterday, Mauro Icardi is now at 93 goals across all competions whilst playing for Inter and is closing in on legendary Mario Corso on 94 goals and thereby also closing in on the top ten list of Inter’s all time goalscorers.

At this pace, where he has scored 15 goals in 14 games and is tied with Lazio’s Ciro Immobile at the top of list regarding Serie A’s goalscorers, Inter captain Icardi could start aiming for Ermanno Aebi on 106 goals, all of which he scored in the Serie A and Christian Vieri  who scored 103 goals during his stint with the Nerazzurri.

At the moment Icardi stands on 86 goals in the Serie A for Inter and including the 10 he scored for Sampdoria he is only 4 goals away from scoring a century of Serie A goals in total.
