One of Suning’s main plans for the Nerazzurri since taking over, is to build a Nerazzurri team with far more Italian players than present when they bought the club.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter have identified Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella, Atalanta’s Bryan Cristante and Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa as the main names the Nerazzurri are keeping tabs on. To comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules before signing any one, Inter have to make a big money sale either by selling Joao Mario or Marcelo Brozovic, as the duo are the players linked the most with a move away from the Giuseppe Meazza.
According to the report Inter have made contact with Cagliari about Barella over the weekend when the two sides met at the Sardegna Arena. Inter would like to sign him when the transfer window opens this January. The Sardinian side are demanding € 30-35 million whilst Inter would like to insert a young player to go in the opposite direction to reduce the cost, with Andrea Pinamonti being the player identified to be most likely to leave.
Another name on Inter’s list is former AC Milan midfielder Bryan Cristante, who is also a prime target for other top Serie A clubs. Cristante is valued at € 20-25 million but Inter will have to look more into the financial structure of that particular transfer.
The last name on the list is Fiorentina’s winger Federico Chiesa who is perhaps the most expensive among the three players discussed. He recently renewed his contract with the Viola and is now earning €2 million net per season and his asking price should be around €50 million according to the Gazzetta.
