Borja Valero: “I Should Try To Score Like Recoba Did At Inter”

Inter midfielder Borja Valero was this weeks guest on Inter TV show ‘Drive.’ The Spanish midfielder spoke onhis ‘famous’ beard among other things.

“The fans who were outside my house telling me not to leave Fiorentina is one of the joys we have as professionals where we see people believe in us. It is a great satisfaction,” Valero said on his exit from Fiorentina in the summer.

He was then asked about his social media usage, a question all of those on the show before him have also been asked and revealed what other passions he has.

“I use them occasionally, but sometimes it’s like they did not exist. As for my wife it is different as she is a sports journalist and uses them as a communication tool. One of my passions is reading, I like to read a lot. Golf relaxes me a lot, I like it a lot too.”

The 33-year-old was then asked about the message former Inter favourite Alvaro Recoba sent him when he took on the number 20 that he wore while with the club.

“As soon as I came to Inter, Matias Vecino had sent me the video message as they know each other. I should try to score some goals like he did, but it’s tough [laughs].”

Valero then spoke on his beard and the speed at which it grows back upon shaving it completely off.

“Obviously, hair does not grow on my head and has to grow on me elsewhere.”

He concluded by discussing who he feels is better between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“I think Ronaldo will win the Balon D’Or due to his trophies with Madrid, but the Argentine is also a phenomenon.”
