It is believed Matias Vecino will only be available from the bench for the upcoming fixture against Chievo Verona and will be replaced in the starting 11 by Joao Mario who looks likely to take his place behind Icardi, in-between Perisic and Candreva.

Meanwhile Marcelo Brozovic will replace the suspended Roberto Gagliardini in a more defensive double-pivot with Borja Valero.

“When he wants to be, Brozovic is the ideal midfielder because he is flexible, runs many miles and likes to take a shot when the chance is there,” Gazzetta dello Sport point out. Against Chievo he will have to be very good at reading the game and understanding when not to leave Borja Valero alone, who himself also likes to go forward.

The news outlet predict the first goal will determine the winner of this fixture which looks set to test the will of those who have not been given much game time by Spalletti so far, as a consequence of the suspensions and the Vecino injury.
