Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo spoke on Inter linked Lucas Torreira among other things in an interview with Corriere dello Sport today ahead of his sides clash with Lazio this weekend.
“Can Torreira be compared to Claudio Pizzaro?” The Rome based news outlet asked the 50-year-old.
“Pizarro had so much quality, but he was too tired, if Torreira was taller, he would already cost 100 million and would be considered among the best midfielders in the world. He will be in a big club that does not care much about his stature in the future.”
Giampaolo then discussed four of his players who have moved on to arguably better things in Milan Skriniar, who joined Inter, Bruno Fernandes, Patrik Schick and Luis Muriel.
“Four great players left, three are playing in the Champions League, the fourth [Skriniar] will play next year, but we as a team have improved in a collective way.”
