Ausilio Has ‘Absolute Faith” In The Current Crop Of Inter Players

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport with minutes to go until kick off at the Allianz Stadium.

“We have already had many confirmations that the project that we are carrying out is being done so in the best way and with great intensity. For many this is ‘the’ game, but like every other game, it is worth three points.”

Asked who he would sign from Juventus if given the opportunity, he replied: “They are all great players, who have confirmed over the years that they are the best, but I am convinced that ours are not far behind. I have absolute faith in my own players and wouldn’t change them for anyone.”

Ausilio then revealed what he believes helped make a difference at the start of Luciano Spalletti’s reign in charge in comparison to other managers.

“The fact we were able to choose the coach at the end of May and start work early made a big difference. Last season, we made changes in mid-August for a thousand reasons and we all saw what happened.

“Spalletti has great respect for this squad, he wanted to evaluate them first and opted to keep most of them, so we just added to the team where necessary and worked with the same players.”

Milan Skriniar’s superb form since arriving in the summer has lead to calls from many suggesting Inter reward him with a new contract including a buyout clause. Ausilio concluded the interviewing by sharing his thoughts on the matter.

“We are not talking about release clauses anymore. Milan has just arrived, he is doing very well, so let’s leave him to develop, he has a lot to give.”
