It ended up being a scare for Davide Santon, Inter defender who exited last night’s game between Juventus and Inter due to a knee injury after a tough collision with Juventus player Juan Quadrado. An episode that rendered Juventus a dangerous free kick and left Santon with no other option than to exit the game with Brazilian defender Dalbert Henrique replacing him. According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, it seems that Santon managed to avoid a serious injury to his knee, a knee that he have had a lot of problems with previously in his career. Therefore, luckily, the fears of a long-term injury can be put aside, although the collision actually was shin to shin. This means that Santon should be able to return to practice tomorrow as usual, preparing for the Coppa Italia game against Pordenone. Since this is tough week with, besides the Coppa Italia clash, a Saturday game against Udinese, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti may have to let Santon rest in at least one of those games.
