Former Inter midfielder Patrick Vieira spoke on what he looks for when he watches Serie A games in an interview with La Repubblica.”

“When I watch a game, the first thing I want is to have fun in doing so. I prefer a 3-2 to a 1-0 that can bore. I thought like this as a player and now even more as a manager.”

The French midfielder then spoke on the race for the scudetto this season.

“Napoli is on the right track to win the scudetto and intrigues me that they are trying to win it in their own way, without compromise. This year, Serie A is more open than ever and the competition for Juventus has increased thanks to Inter, Roma and Napoli.”

Vieira won four straight Serie A titles while on Inter’s books between 2006 and 2010 prior to moving on to Manchester City the following season. He now serves as manager of MLS franchise New York City FC.
