Il Resto del Carlino report that Simone Verdi will not leave Bologna until the summer, echoing the players words from a few days ago.

The Rossoblu forward has come in to links with Inter in recent weeks but the Nerazzurri are not leading the race to sign the 25-year-old who has also played for Carpi, Torino and Milan.

Inter’s title rivals Napoli are in fact the ones leading the way to sign the Italian international, who has a contract with the Sardinian side through to 2021. This is due to the fact that Bologna have shown an interest in their midfielder Marko Rog and a deal could be struck concerning both players.

Verdi, who can play on either wing and as a striker, has impressed a number of clubs this term with his performances for Roberto Donadoni’s side. In 17 games in all competitions, Verdi has found the net on five occasions and made five assists in that time.
