At the book launch of Itali Cucci’s book about the Moratti family, former Inter President Massimo Moratti was interviwed by the gatherin journalist about the book as well as answering several questions about the Nerazzurri.
The former Inter President stated of the book that: “the happiest moments were when we could raise the trophies. The part about my father is beautiful, to read about it was great. I am very optimistic about the future of Inter, what happened against Udinese was more of an accident on the way. What the team has done so far indicates that it has all the qualities to do well from here on.”
Moratti was asked what possible advice he has to give the new onwers Suning replying that: “Patience and passion, to care for what you do, and the people who are at Inter now seem to have that characteristics. I do not know if Inter will reinforce during January’s transfer market, but I think a central defender and an attacker could be useful. As for the rest of the team, it works as it should. When Eto’o arrived at Inter I offered coffee to the journalists that followed the negotiations, that is true. It was late at night and we needed to celebrate something.
“My father laid the groundwork for the victories that came later, the books tells this well, also at a photographic level. Cucci talks well about the family spirit that was inserted in Inter when the Moratti family arrived. Nowadays it is hard to find that kind of spirit elsewhere. The structure in football now, makes it hard to replicate the kind of familiar level we had at Inter. The Zhang family are entrepreneurs and the owners of a company, and they are interested in the history of Inter” the former Inter President stated.
In conclusion Moratti was asked if he will buy Erick Thohir’s 30% stake of Inter replying that: “No, he will sell it directly to the Zhang family.”
