Antonio Candreva: “A Bitter Defeat, Now Full Focus On Lazio”

Inter’s Italian international winger Antonio Candreva spoke with Inter TV after the heavy loss in the quarterfinals of the TIM Cup against cross town rivals AC Milan by 1-0 after extra time.

Candreva began by expressing remorse stating that: “this is a bitter defeat because we wanted to win. This is not a normal match, we are talking about a derby, but I feel sorry for our fans. It was a tough and tight game, but with the chances we had, if only we could have been more fortunate and scored in one of them maybe we could have closed the game being in the lead.”

The former Lazio and Juventus winger then shifted his attention to what lay ahead for the Nerazzurri: “we are lacking a bit of luck at the moment, coming from two tough losses where we in reality only underperformed against Udinese in the second half. Starting from tomorrow we have to think about the game against Lazio, which is a profoundly important game since both of us are in the top of the Serie A and both competing for the Champions League spots. We have to get ourselves together during these difficult times and restart everything.”
