TuttoMercatoWeb Radio interviewed Uruguayan football great Ruben Sosa who played for both Lazio and Inter during his playing days. Sosa, was asked about his thoughts ahead of when his two former teams clash in the Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, with kick off scheduled for 18.00 CET.
“Both teams are very strong. It is tough to predict how these matches will end up. Lazio is doing pretty good away from home, so I think they will put up a great fight against Inter. On the other hand, Inter are also hungry for the win and it has been a while since they tasted Scudetto glory. With a bit luck, Inter can win the match” Sosa began.
Then he was asked about his favorite team for the coveted fourth spot in the Serie A, which ensures a chance to play in next seasons Champions League, to which he replied: “Historically speaking, I would say Inter. Their club crest carries more weight too, but Lazio can catch up with them, they have that potential.”
In conclusion Sosa was asked about if Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira is good enough to play at a top club: “He’s a well-trained guy. He loves to play football. I can see him playing for Inter or Juventus in the near future. He can become a big player. If Lazio were to sign him that would be a huge signing for them.”
