Bologna’s Italian winger Simone Verdi has been a revelation so far this season in the Serie A for Bologna. The former AC Milan youth team player has been heavily linked with a move to Inter and Napoli but has stressed many times that he is not interested in leaving Bologna mid-season.
Italian media outlet Premium Sport however, report that after Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis personally got involved in the negotiations, Napoli and Bologna have found an agreement for the immediate transfer of Verdi to the Partenopei.
According to the report Napoli will pay €24 million and another €2 million in add-ons for Verdi who is not entirely convinced regarding the transfer. The reason for Verdi’s hesitation is as mentioned above, that he does not think changing teams in the middle of the season to reunite with his former coach Sarri would benefit him.
According to the same report Inter have decided to pursue FC Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu instead and are therefore effectively out of the race to sign the Bologna player.
