Even if Inter achieve their pre-season goal of qualifying for the Champions League, captain and star man Mauro Icardi could still depart the club for pastures new, Milan based newspaper Libero have revealed.

In fact, Inter are even considering selling the Argentine off to the highest bidder to definitively get rid of Financial Fair Play problems that they have. The 24-year-old has a €110 million release clause and plenty clubs interested so Inter will take all necessary precautions to ensure they get the most they can for Icardi which could involve them even doubling his release clause.

The Nerazzurri are understood to be unhappy with Icardi due to his recent social media posts, particularly on Instagram and the continued vague statements made from his agent and wife, Wanda Nara.

Moreover, Libero report that unless Inter raise Icardi’s €4.5 million annual salary to €7.5 million, they can kiss goodbye to keeping a hold of the Argentine striker who has been prolific since arriving back in 2013 from Sampdoria.
