During an interview with RMC Sport, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was at pains to point out that the team is still on track to reach its stated objective of UEFA Champions League qualification. Here is what the 45-year-old had to say:
“We are enduring a difficult period, and our results have declined in the last few weeks. However, we are in line with the objectives we set out at the start of the season.”
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are reportedly set to step up their pursuit of number one transfer target Javier Pastore today. Indeed, Suning have reportedly opened up to the idea of offering €3-4 million to sign him on loan until the end of the season, when they will have an option to make the move permanent for a further €25 million.
It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to tempt the Ligue 1 leaders into selling the former Palermo man.
