Former Inter president and owner, Massimo Moratti tried to analyze the situation of the current Inter team in a long interview with FcInterNews. The Italian tycoon highlighted different aspects of Inter and what is currently going on in the club.
Could you tell us why is there a slump in Inter’s performances?
“Well, frankly speaking I am an external observer right now and I don’t have a great insight about the technical aspects of this team but from what I can understand is that the problem might be a physical one. Inter’s team is not good enough to keep up the pace after January. We have seen similar things under Mancini and now we are observing the same thing.”
Do you think there is a problem in dressing room’s mentality?
“I don’t know! But maybe it isn’t that simple. This problem is now consistent at Inter. After January a certain group of players stop performing which is affecting the whole team.”
Would you welcome Pastore in this team?
“I don’t think it is about the individuals who are playing right now. It is moreover about showing willingness and passion for the club. The team is good.”
But the manager thinks he needs reinforcements. What’s your take on that?
“That might be true. But there are limitations with which the manager has to deal with and find proper solution.”
Do you think Icardi can be a bad element for the team?
“I don’t think you can say much to him at this moment. He is the only man who is scoring and winning matches for Inter. He is a captain who has pride and now doing what a Champion player should do.”
What is your take on new arrivals like Skriniar or Cancelo?
“Skriniar is solid. Very strong player. Cancelo needs to play better. He has improved his performances lately and hope he can carry on that.”

Yes, Mr Old Fool (something I´ve called Moratti for years) – the club´s problem is physical – the physical absence of money, which is all your fault because of your idiotic running of the club which almost brought us to bankruptcy!
When a player sees that he week after trains as hard as he can on the training ground and still don’t make it into the team which so far has been a “closed country” for only 12-13 players that have played everything game so far – that player loses motivation and start to drop his training efforts (which also was confirmed by Icardi some weeks ago), which again is very bad for the hole teams preforms.
The players need to feel competition from others other wise they start to rest on their laurels and eventually under preform, like Perisic and Candreva etc…
So our problem is SURELY mental and nothing else!
make sense to me
I just hope that these moratti’s statements are not the start of his PR for his coming back to inter,…
oooh, nooo.
Yeah…and who´s fault is that?
hahaha!
