Nagatomo To Galatasaray A Done Deal

Yuto Nagatomo’s loan transfer from Inter to Galatasaray has been agreed according to several Italian media outlets. As we reported earlier La Liga side Real Betis and Turkish giants Galatasaray were going head to head to secure the services of the former Cesena player and it looks that the Turkish giants have come out on top.

Tomorrow the Japanese international full-back will fly out to Istanbul to undergo his medical examinations before putting pen to paper on a deal that will see him stay with Galatasaray at least until the end of the season. The Nerazzurri will receive €1 million, where an option is included to make the transfer for sround €7-8 million.

Inter coach Luciano Spalletti revealed last week that the Japanese international asked him for more playing time given that Japan have qualified for the FIFA World Cup later this year and Nagatomo does not want to risk losing his spot in the team. It seems his agent, Federico Pastorello’s trip to Istanbul was a success as the Japanese international will continue the remainder of the season with the Cimbom, at least to start with.

Yuto Nagatomo joined Inter in exactly eight years ago during the 2011 January transfer window and has since then featured 210 times in all competitions scoring 11 times in the process.
