Stefan De Vrij continues to delay putting his signature on Lazio’s new contract offer and so the rumours continue as explained by today’s paper edition Corriere dello Sport which reads: “there is a sort of good will gesture between the two parties, as the Deutch defender and his entourage have agreed to sign a new deal with a €25 million release clause, as if to say, I’m grateful but I want to leave.”
However there is now a level of uncertainty for Lazio, who have prepared the contract and are ready to announce it but Stefan continues to delay the signing, as he has done since the start of January. Forcing Lazio to ask, when will he actually do it, if not by now? The reason for this fear is because De Vrij is far from short of admirers, such as, Inter, Barcelona and many others from the Premier League.
Inter can hope that he is waiting to see if they can recover their form and qualify for Champions Legaue, if his will is to stay in Italy and play in that tournament. Otherwise it is completely unknown.
