Torino president Urbano Cairo has revealed why talks between themselves and Bologna broke down for Godfred Donsah on transfer deadline day on Wednesday.
“The boy said he preferred to stay in Bologna and not to come to Turin. On Wednesday afternoon, authorised by Bologna, our manager Walter Mazzarri tried to call him to understand the situation. Donsah, however, did not answer,” Cairo explained to Corriere di Torino.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian central midfielder also became an apparent target of Inter’s on Wednesday. No move ever transpired however after it was believed any move was subject to Inter youngster Andrea Pinamonti completing a transfer to fellow Serie A side Sassuolo but that move also fell through. The 18-year-old forward was understood not to be convinced due to there not being enough clarity with regard to which role he would be playing if he was to complete a move to the MAPEI Stadium.
