Frank De Boer returns to talk about his brief experience at Inter when being interviewed by Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport. The former Ajax and Crystal Palace coach drew comparisons between the adventure in Italy and the one in the Premier League stating that: “In Italy I had a little more complications, not only as for the language, but also for the way of transmitting my messages and my ideas. The way we think has much more similarities with the English one, at Inter they do a little, yes they base more on sentiment: a block of seven to eight players is formed and the rest try to get it out.”
De Boer highlighted the desire to make progress with the group, however, with the difficulties in incorporating his training system to the Nerazzurri: “It was a bit of a mess, they did what they wanted. positional game, training schemes typical of the Dutch system then, I had never seen anything like this. The Ajax youth players did better than Inter. I did not expect anything like that to come out. They did not see the usefulness of the exercises but I told them that this was an essential part of starting to understand how we wanted to play.”
I’d like to sacrifice next 4-5 years as long as the goal clear, a fully reformed inter. Sell all those so called star player and start to rely on the likes of Karamoh, Skriniar, Pinamonti and their generation, combine with another shining academy players. Educate the generation. Use the money from players we sell to balance club’s finance, then start to buy players wisely.
It is definitely risky as fuck, there will be many defeat against rivals, the stake will be very high, but that’s how you plan for long term. Investment. It will takes time. Otherwise we’ll be just like this until we have grand children.
It’s been almost 8 years since our glory night, if only we started back then, now we’ll be where we want to be. Instead we’re in the loop. Another sucks season, another coach. So yeah, sacrifice next 4 or 5 years will be okay, considering we’re strong enough to suffer for the last 6-7 years
The biggest Inter mistake was not developing and relying on its Academy players. Instead, Inter used to seek lots of garbage players (benchwarmers in their previous clubs) who later became “Star Players”. We do not have continuity and we only have rotation and frequent changes. Players have been adapted in this situation. They secretly like firing coaches and bringing another one and firing him too. These players since 2011/2012 season do care about money only. Their mentality is so much different than our legends. Different mentality leads to lack of training, pretending to be a good player, cheating of coaches, lack of physical preparedness, lack of understanding of tactics, more or less 50% commitment to the game, no respect to the club and its fans… I think this situation will be changed if Inter owners and management understand that Inter’s long-term development is in its Academy. (Academy+Foreign Talents) + Good coach = Success
Just shut the fuck up please!
We’ve changed how many coaches since Mourinho now in 8 years, 12-13 ?!
The only ones to be blamed here are the management and the players. And actually there were some matches where these shitheads listened to De Boer and we played such an entertaining and effective football. But sadly they were only a few matches.
For those that are making fun of him since he had success only with Ajax and so on. Guess which top club has the philosophy of Ajax installed from toddlers to the first team ? It is the fucking Barcelona!
And tell me how that is a poor way of playing now please ?! We have become a club where mediocre players like Brozovic,Icardi,Perisic and many more can just come and act like stars and get ridiculous salaries without doing nothing!
A full reform is required in Inter, we get rid of all this shit, including these so called “star players” and install a new culture in Inter. A culture where they don’t fucking spoil every player for giving a goal in 4 matches. Where there is always a next year and where you get applauded for making an “effort”. If they really did make an effort we’d be a lot better by now.

it is devastating for any club that want to be considered as a serious club. … I guess IT IS THE SAME AND AT THIS MOMENT, but we shall READ ABOUT IT LATER … and say fdb, spalleti etc. are losers.
Look who’s talking now.
Cause if he talked like this during our winning streak, he would looked like a clown.
That being said, his comment didnt stand the test circumstances.
imo inter shouldn’t play possession football with slow build up attack from the back and high percentage successful short passes, we’ve seen those for the pass few years now,
inter should play effective strong defensive football “let them come and take the ball from their feet style” with rapid direct passes and counterattacking, lots of one-twos, through passes, and long ball, possession is automatic when facing lower quality opponents.
remember the 2000-2010 era when we’re a top team, remember how we won the treble and the leagues before. it’s in our dna. pazza inter.
And who’s gonna defend for fuck’s sake ??
Valero, Brozovic, Santon,D’Ambrosio ?
We had legends in our teams not only physically but mentally as well that were smart and knew how to read the game. Not even Miranda that gets praised so much is nowhere near Walter Samuel, Zaneti and the other great defenders we’ve had from 2010 and earlier.
yes defent my albanian friend, but who is going to pass precise ball to our attack. only sneider was able to do that in last .-…hmm, how many years before and after him ! inter is almost always attacking too slowly and without any surprises, on the opponent’s defensive line which had already took their positions in their block.
Yeah that’s why Sneijder was Mourinho’s smartest transfer. Because we always have been a team at least before 2010 that had a strong attack and defense but we never had a mastermind midfielder like Sneijder.
Well we had Kovacic, of course Sneijder’s vision and ability to pass was world class but at least Kovacic was someone who you could rely to connect the defense with the attack with 2352354 dribbles or just some vertical pass.
But now we don’t have anyone like that, Rafinha seems to be very good although he’s not at his best yet but he seems to be more a tiki-taka guy or whatever Barca’s system is called which is nice and needed.
But we still need a Xavi/Sneijder midfielder like. And more than anything we need to wake the fuck up and stop spoiling these players -_-
aliu,
CONGRATULATIONS FROM CROATS FOR THE FIRST 10 YEARS OF KOSOVO !!!
Long live KOSOVO REPUBLIC ! ;-))))
Thanks man, not so happy about that either. We’re doing much like Inter, only anniversaries rather than achieving anything worthy to be mentioned lol
Kosovo is Serbija
where are you from serbian pavel ?
KOSOVO IS NOT SERBIA for quite a time … and
NEVER WILL BE AGAIN forever !
because of the way we play is soft, the names you mentioned above are better players then genoa players, but not playing tougher. you don’t let them get pass you, you don’t let them cross the ball, you don’t let them shoot, that kind of toughness.
What annoys me a lot is that all rats come out to spit shit on us every time there is a crisis (which is pretty much twice a season for 7 years). I get that we are in a ridiculous situation but come on have respect you rats and shut up. All of you failures.
If it’s true, Hollywood can make a soap opera with these bunch of teenagers, no wonder they act like a “useless” superhero with their BS outside the field and a headless chicken inside the field
And why did you fail at Palace Frank De “Weirdo”?
I know our team is in a terrible situation and there are so many fractions in our locker room, but this guy who is a total failure should be the last who dares to talk about Inter.
I wouldn’t call a guy who won several b2b league titles with Ajax a failure. I know it’s not a top league, but it’s still not an easy task at all.
This team does not have the mentality required to compete at the highest level. It’s been like this since the 2012/13 season (I don’t count 10/11 or 11/12 because the team’s core was still the same as when Inter won the treble, they were just declining pretty badly). We’ve had countless managers and not one has been able lift this team. Mazzarri was great with Napoli, he turned shit with Inter. Mancini won the Premier League with City and had won Scudetto with Inter previously, he turned shit after his last spell with Inter. Pioli was somewhat decent with Lazio (qualified to CL in 14/15) and then turned into utter shit with Inter. Now Spalletti (who was undoubtedly great with Roma) is looking clueless.
In conclusion…it all comes down to the players.
And he won it with Ajax, the strongest team of Holland if u will.
Adding to this, from your list the only one who was Inter level coach was Mancio, and he was good indeed, specially if he would’ve remained for another season.
I like Spalletti too, he’s stubborn as shit, and has became too conservative lately, but I still like him and I believe if he remains for a couple of seasons he will able to turn things around for us, just like Mancio.
The kind of annoying thing about this situation is that changing coach now would on a short term probably provide better results. You get any coach in playing the same fucking formation that Spalletti plays and these jackasses would probably wake up for a ten game stretch or so. But on a long term it’s just a dumb move to change coaches all the freaking time. And Spalletti is a good coach.
These damn players are so used to folding that they pretty much drive every coach out of this club. It’s also about the too high expectations and pressure of course. Have they given up already and just waiting for Spalletti to be sacked? Icardi and the Croatians are fighting, which is kind of a really bad sign. Annoying as fuck.
bravo!! I agree 100%!
In conclusion…it all comes down to the players. — very true bruno ! yet YOU FORGOT THE CLUB ! in serious club, players know that they would have been punished for BAD BEHAVIOUR, but in inter, no ….
the coach pays it all !
Obviously language played a part, his time at Ipswich was no better.
idk why players at inter forget they are playing in a professional team lol, are we really a pro team ?sometimes i doubt
Should have fired the players instead
surprise! they still are
