On the day of his 25th birthday, Inter captain Mauro Icardi was interviewed by Inter TV talking about his birthday, the difficult period the team is going through as well as how well his recovery proceeds after the injury of the last few days.
The former Sampdoria striker began by thanking everyone who had reached out to him to wish him a happy birthday saying: “Thank you all for the good wishes, to my teammates and to all the people who made them here. A bitter birthday, we hope to return to have satisfaction.
I’m fine, I’m recovering from the annoyance to the injury that kept me out and I hope to return as soon as possible to help the team to make the results we are missing in the last two months” Icardi continued.
Icardi was then asked about the rumors surrounding his knee stating that: “I suffered a blow to my knee in the first half of the season against Bologna, then also against Torino, this is why I had to pull out from the Argentinian national team. It is all in the past so I do not know why they talked about it.”
In conclusion he was asked about the upcoming match against Benevento stating that: “On Saturday, what we all want, us, the fans and the staff, is to go back to winning as we did at the beginning, we hope that this match will return to victory. I have no birthday plans, I’ll be at home with the family, it’s not the time to do anything special.”
