As rumours circulated yesterday about Walter Sabatini possibly departing, a familiar name was branded about by the press as a possible replacement for the technical coordinator – who terminated his contract this morning – , Marco Branca, the former sporting director of Inter who was with the club from 2002-2014.
Gazzetta dello Sport report though that Suning are not overly convinced about the idea of replacing Sabatini with Branca or anyone at all for that matter.
“Pushing the idea for turning back time [and bringing Branca back would] is Massimo Moratti, but in Nanjing they are convinced that the managerial team is already strong as it is. They would rather focus on efficiency and give confidence to the people currently in the management team.”
Gazzetta also highlighted the good work done by current sporting director Piero Ausilio ahead of this summer’s transfer window. Ausilio has masterminded the transfer of Lautaro Martinez to Inter and is closing in on adding Stefan de Vrij and Kwadwo Asamoah on free transfers.
