During an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, former FIFA agent Dario Canovi has discussed Walter Sabatini’s decision to reisgn from his post as Suning Sports’ technical coordinator. Here is what he had to say:
“His decision does not surprise me, honestly. Sabatini’s role was a duplication of an existing job. Ausilio and Sabatini are two intelligent and responsible people, so to work in close contact was complicated.
“It’s true that his space to work on the market was objectively limited, and Sabatini has always been used to working in absolute autonomy. That has always been his greatest strength and he has taken his share of the blame when things have gone wrong. However, in the past, he has mostly done well because of this. He also left Roma because his influence was being reduced.
“I think Massara is an excellent addition to the Nerazzurri management team and believe he can perform a similar role to that of Sabatini for Suning, leaving Ausilio to take care of Inter’s sporting needs.”
